“Humans are at the heart of DPG Media”

Confetti
The official opening of Mediavaert in Amsterdam last year was a special moment. King Willem-Alexander’s presence was a fitting tribute to the effort that went into creating this impressive building.
During the opening ceremony, stunning visuals on the stairs told a powerful story about the role of journalists in Dutch history, reminding us of the brave reporters who spread the free word in times of war. But they also highlighted the challenges facing journalists today: how do you tell the difference between the truth and disinformation in the age of fake news and AI? The voice-over summed it up nicely: “Just like then, today’s rapid progress is meaningless without someone there to explore, connect and entertain. A human being.”
Humans are at the heart of DPG Media. Every day, thousands of media creators in Belgium and the Netherlands work hard to develop the best possible journalistic and entertainment media. We’re building digital platforms that inform and inspire users, and radio stations and television channels that are among the most popular in our countries. For many, our newspapers and magazines are an indispensable part of their daily lives.
These efforts result not only in strong media, but also in a healthy bottom line. This is not a given in a market subject to sudden and sweeping changes. We would therefore like to thank all our employees for their commitment and dedication.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to present DPG Media’s consolidated financial statements for the 2024 financial year. We look forward with confidence to 2025 and the opportunities that lie ahead, and to the intended addition of RTL Netherlands to our group. The confetti’s all cleaned up – let’s get back to building our future.
